Add more Joy to your Life

Ask Patricia explains How to add more Joy to your Life!

Dear Ask Patricia,

I am not sure if I am doing the right things in my life at this time. How do you know if your where your suppose to be? How can I be happy where I am at? I would like more Joy in my life!

Happily Confused,
Jack, NY

Dear Jack,

You are always where you are suppose to be! And that is because there are no right or wrong places in life. Just as there are no right or wrong decisions. It is more about understanding where it is you want to go and what experiences you would like to be having at this time in your life.

Most people feel very confused right now in there lives because we are going through a very profound change globally. This change is not only affecting us on a financial level, it is also affecting us on a personal and physical level.

We are all connected in one way or another. People are vibrational Human beings and when we think thoughts we send this vibration out into the atmosphere.  When lots of people are thinking thoughts that are confused, afraid, or unhappy we all end up feeling them together.

So the first and most important thing here is to identify what are your true thoughts and what do you feel in the moment. Next look around you, are you feeling what your friend or family may be feeling? (If so then try the exercise below)  When we as people do not feel peace, then we are not in accordance to our true human nature. Our Human Nature is peaceful.

Try this exercise when you feel unhappy:
  1. Close your eyes and pretend you have a tube that reaches down into the earth.
  2. Next pretend that you have a lever or button to push
  3. Now push the lever or button and let all the stuff of the day and all the other heaviness go out the tube into the earth
  4. Next see a beautiful light ( in a color you love)
  5. Let this color wash you like a waterfall ( until you feel better and Joy-full)

We not only become affected by our thoughts, but also when our nervous system is affected by pollution, technology, and artificial foods and fabrics as well as chemicals we use to clean with.
These everyday things can create disturbances in  the way we feel, how we think and react to others.

So here are a few things you can do daily, to help you Stay in a clear peaceful state of mind.

6 Quick Ways to more Joy in your Life!
  •  As you brush your teeth every morning, give yourself permission to "BE HAPPY"
  •  Make a short to do list of the day, then Simplify it to the Top 5 things ( the rest can get done tomorrow, or the next day) People who do this feel less stressed about the daily task and as a result Happier!
  • Do at least one thing for yourself everyday ( exercising, reading your favorite book for 15 min., a hot bath,  a nature walk, or listening to your favorite song)
  • Say No, sometimes we must just decline business or personal offers and take care of our needs.
  • Practice Self Care, notice the things that make you feel good and do them more regularly (you are given permission)
  • Spread Joy, smile at people, sing songs out loud, pet a dog, and smell a flower...people will notice your Joy and soon feel raised by your presence.

Happy People are Socially Active

Ask Patricia explains "clues to Happiness"

Dear Ask Patricia,

I just do not feel happy anymore in my life! Lately I have been feeling very depressed, all I want to do is sleep when I get off of work or watch T.V.? Do you have any suggestions to help me get my life back on track?

Needing help,
 Kelly , CA

Dear Kelly ,

Do not worry your not alone! In a recent survey, I read 77% of Americans are unhappy. That’s over half the population in the U.S.  And most of their unhappiness could be traced back to their interactions. These people tend to stay home more, watch T.V. and have less social interaction.

And if you begin to look at what you watch on T. V. or what music you listen to, you will begin to see a correlation in your life. Are you listening to sad music, or is it inspiring? Do you watch Television shows that depict death and violence, or do you find shows that up lift you and educate you? Either way, your emotions are being effected by what you take in.

Try this for 1 week…. Notice the television shows you watch, the music you listen to? Do you know what is being said in the words and lyrics? (Listen you may just be surprised) Now gain awareness about what your watching and listening to. Look at your life…. How does it look similar to the words of the song or the shows that you watch?

I remember when I first had this awareness. I was watching what I believed to be a very harmless sitcom. But later, I realized the sitcom depicted a couple always at odds. The show was centered on the theme “disharmony” but disguised in a blanket of humor.

I began to ask myself how does this show make me feel about the people in my life? The show depicted men as lazy, selfish, and annoying. And women as angry, and upset, all the time! I realized one thing in that moment, there is a reason they call it Television  “PROGRAMING”.  I was being programed, and it was affecting my brain.
Today think  to  yourself"Everything always works out for me, I am Happy"!

Your brain is a sensitive computer.  Everyday your brain processes and downloads data . So you have to make sure you fill yourself with good things.
One way to do this is to write positive quotes and post them by your bed or bathroom mirror. Another might be to pick a really soft playing music you like, and keep it on in the background of your home. (Classical, Enya, New Age are just a few examples)

Another great way to up your mood and improve your happiness is to get involved in others lives. For some this may look like volunteering, for others it might be to join a social group you have an interest in. Maybe it’s inviting some one new out for a quick lunch. What ever you choose the goal here is to have social interaction.
Socially active people are happier in their lives, than those that are not.

Sometimes it is easier to go home after a long day of work and retreat to solitude. But if you’re ready to try something new, then make a lunch date or go to a social event at least every two weeks.

Kelly, I am sure you are one lovely lady and there are people that feel just like you that would love to get out every now and then. As with in all my post, I try to link my information to a helpful resource that might interest the reader:

Why Kids love Valentine's Day

Kids love Valentine's Day.... and you know why? Because it's the one day a year, they get to express their love freely to everyone around them. After long hours of sitting and listening to the teacher tell them to sit down and behave. Finally they get a chance to run around, desk to desk and share the love their little heart feels all year long.

And although most kids will have a special friend or two, all children understand one thing very well... We all want to feel love. I remember when I was in the 4th grade and my best friend was in a automobile accident...she was hospitalized. I wrote out about 10 extra Valentine's to that one girl in hopes that all my writing and love would heal her and make her feel better.

CHILDREN'S GIFTS STARTING AT 29.99

I even recall recently my young niece telling me a story of  how her best friend, lost her ring. Her Favorite ring! When I found my niece in her room searching through her box of Special things, I asked her what is it your looking for?

Surprise your children with a Valentine!

She began to explain that she had a similar  ring to the one her friend lost,  and she was on a hunt to find it...because all though it was her favorite, she would give it to her friend. That my friends is true love! Not a  thought... just giving and giving from the heart.

So as we watch the little ones around us make Valentine's this year, let's see if we can recall our younger years and how much it meant to fill out those Valentine's for the ones we loved.Do you have a memory you would like to share with Ask Patricia? A way to a Man's Heart this Valentine's Day

So here you have it, a simple posting on how to win a man's heart this Valentine's Day!  It won't take to much convincing once you try this recipe out on him! You know we have all heard the old saying,"the way to man's heart is through his stomach"!

This has been a test; I tried and passed very well... Every man I have ever baked for fell head over heels for me! I knew I had found the secret to keeping a good man. I mean it took a few years, to find a good one, but now I found myself a keeper. And a very well fed man I must say!

I read this article a few years ago that proved my theory! They found that men were more turned on by the scent of sweets and baked goods, than so called sexy perfumes! I kid you not... That is what they said in a test study. So ladies pull out those dishes and try out this 15min. recipe.

Not only will you win your mans heart this Valentine's day, you will have so much fun getting covered in chocolate and making these sweet treats! So turn on some music, grab a few strawberries and chocolate and start playing!
Ingredients
  • 16 ounces milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries with leaves
Directions
  1. Insert toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.
  2. In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and shortening, stirring occasionally until smooth. Holding them by the toothpicks, dip the strawberries into the chocolate mixture.
  3. Place on wax paper and wait for the chocolate to cool.

And as in all my post if you don't have time and your a working woman then check out my link on some really great chocolate strawberries that you can have delivered just before Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day and Dating

Ever wonder why people love dating?  I have pondered this question? It seems people are always looking for ways to meet Mr. or Mrs.  Right? And in today's world you may ask yourself , with my busy schedule... How will I ever meet someone?
Well let me first start by saying, finding someone may be easier than you think, when you understand why your doing it!

The reason people date is to find someone to share their lives with. When we include someone in our lives, we open to a whole new world. When two people share a dinner the food becomes an event to be enjoyed, a movie becomes a new topic to explore, and a chance to grow and learn from another perspective.

And of course we all love to date, to have someone to spend the holidays with.... And Valentines Day is just around the corner. So you may ask Patricia how would I even go about meeting someone?

There are many ways to meet that special someone, even sooner than you might think. Research shows that when people relax go out and have fun.... the next time they turn around there he or she is. It's that simple!

As I recall, I was wishing for my special someone to come into my life...and then I just kinda let go of the idea....and went to this concert.Interestingly , I had a great connection
with one man and unknowingly aware that at the very same event was the man I would choose as my partner. It was not the man I spent the evening in conversation with, but the man I casually met and would soon meet again.

It was easier than I could have ever imagined, he was right there all along. So go out there and have fun, join a book club , a hiking group, take an unexpected trip, follow your heart and who knows, the next time you turn around....you may have the special someone you have been looking for all along.

And lastly take that chance in life, is there someone you would really love to get to know? Then why not send them a little surprise for Valentine's Day.... It just might be a great conversation starter.Hint: you could ask them out on a date with a beautiful gift basket and a note attached that reads: I may not know you , but from here you look like someone I would love to get to know!

And to help you get up the nerve here's a link to help you out:
